Beginning Our New Year With Acceptance and Tolerance

In this burgeoning year, it is lovely to read messages of love, compassion, and community. From the Lakota Code of Ethics, derived from the Native American Wisdom page, there is much to learn.

"Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy, and greed stem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance."  

This reminds me of our first retreat in Nosara, Costa Rica, spending a divine week with Deva Premal, Miten, and Manose.  My mind and heart responded to Miten's explanation,"Meet people on the path they are on". To be able to understand them, to discover where they are coming from, it is paramount to let go of judgment of their character or actions. Know they are lost temporarily and pray they find their way.

May your way be clear and beautiful in 2019.
